I was happy to see so many people in our office trying to save money by recycling things. They were using the back of scrap paper to print things that would stay in the office. They also decided to start using our shredded papers for box stuffing. Whenever we shipped a package then we stuffed shredded papers around it to keep it safe.

I think that when I let them know I had changed our office supply company to reduce costs, some of them understood that I needed to save money to keep this place running. I would rather find other ways to save money like getting discount office supplies than get rid of valuable employees.

Every person in my company is an asset and I felt that hopefully if I find other ways to trim the fat off of the budget that I could get through this recession and make it through till business turns around. My employees have realized that they can help out also and are always looking for new ways to save a buck.

When the hard times are done then I will not be returning to my old office supply company for the sheer fact that they were priced way too high for things that other companies offer for about half of the price.

My son was getting ready to have his senior pictures taken and wanted some funny shirts to wear in a couple of them. He of course, has some already and wanted to wear them but I told him no way. They were way too old. I was not going to have his pictures taken with some old ratty looking t shirts. I told him to get online and he could buy the same exact funny t shirts online but this way, they would look nice in his pictures.

He got on the internet and found two of the three funny shirts that he wanted. He had a hard time finding the last one, but eventually did. I paid to have them shipped overnight, since his appointment was scheduled for the later in the week.

The funny shirts arrived on time and looked so nice. He wore them in his pictures, and it made me feel better about the whole session. I know that he will probably go back to wearing the old ones, because they are broken in but at least when we get the picture proofs back; he will be wearing new funny t shirts and not old funny t shirts.

I was calling around trying to see if I could figure out what kind of life insurance rates I could get from some of the local insurance agents but they all take too long to return phone calls. I decided to ask some friends if they could recommend anyone local that would return phone calls and get my life insurance rates to me quickly.

My best friend Robin told me that her insurance agent set her up with some inexpensive no medical life insurance last year but it took about six months for them to finalize everything. She suggested that I check out some of the companies on the internet that offer free life insurance rates quotes from different companies and then you just compare them and choose the best one. I had heard of this for car insurance but never for life insurance.

I loved the idea of doing everything online so I started my search for no medical life insurance later that day. The site said that I should expect to get at least three different quotes from three different companies in less than forty eight hours. I am hoping that since the companies are going to get them to me fairly quickly, then my policy will also be set up fairly quickly.

I found some old funny t shirts in the closet and thought about giving them to the local charity. I had worn them during my partying days when I was in my twenties. I remember feeling so cool when I wore those funny shirts. All of my friends would tell me how much they liked them and of course that only encouraged me to go out and buy more.

I have since grown up and have started to wear adult clothing that does not have sayings about drinking and partying on them. I thought about asking my nephew who is in college if he would like to have them and then I actually decided to just keep them and then when I am feeling old, I can pull them out and remember those really great carefree times when I was much younger.

I wonder if any of my friends have kept some of the funny shirts that they used to wear when we were younger. I suppose if ever wanted to have a cool flashback Halloween party, we would all have the best costumes already from back when we thought we were hip.

I told my daughter about how the stuff she is wearing now, will be something that she looks back on and thinks, why did I ever think that I looked cool. It happens to everyone, but she does not believe me.
